February 02, 2013 Game 7: Devils Lose First in Regulation to Penguins 1-5
The New Jersey Devils suffered their first regulation loss of the
season, 1-5 to the Penguins in Pittsburgh on Saturday, February 2, 2013.
Brandon Sutter beat Martin Brodeur at 2:27 of the second period
to get the Penguins on the board first. Chris Kunitz took advantage of
a terrible turnover by Anton Volchenkov in front of Martin Brodeur to make it
a 2-0 lead.
Andy Greene got the Devils on the board with a short-handed goal
that beat Marc-Andre Fleury at 12:23 of the second period. Dainius
Zubrus and Ryan Carter assisted on Greene's first goal of the season.
Kris Letang scored at 2:31 of the third period, and Cindy Crosby
made it 4-1 with a goal at 7:11. Robert Bortuzzo gave the Pens a
4 goal lead with a goal at 9:51.
