Game 16: Devils Lose 1-2 to Senators in Shootout

    The New Jersey Devils lost 1-2 in a shootout at home to the Ottawa Senators on Monday, February 18, 2013.

    Stephen Gionta got the Devils on the board early with a goal that beat Ben Bishop just 1:19 into the first period.   Steve Bernier was credited with the only assist on Gionta's second goal of the season.

    Daniel Alfredsson tied the game with a goal that beat Martin Brodeur at 8:12 of the third period.

    Neither team broke the tie before the end of regulation time, nor before the end of the overtime, forcing a shootout.
