February 21, 2013Game 17: Devils Defeat Capitals 3-2
The New Jersey Devils skated to a 3-2 victory in Washington over
the Capitals on Thursday, February 21, 2013. The teams will meet again
in Washington on Saturday.
Mathieu Perreault put the puck past Martin Brodeur on a
power-play at 9:28 of the second period.
Patrik Elias tied the game with a short-handed goal at 11:16.
Elias' fifth goal of the season was assisted by Adam Henrique.
Mike Ribeiro scored a power-play goal at 12:40 to give the lead
back to Washington.
Andrei Loktionov scored his first goal as a Devils at 9:19 of the
third period, to tie the game 2-2. Adam Larsson was credited with the
only assist on Loktionov's first goal of the season.
Ilya Kovalchuk blasted the puck past Braden Holtby on a
power-play at 11:40 to give the Devils the 3-2 victory. Patrik Elias
and Marek Zidlicky assisted on Kovalchuk's sixth goal of the season.
