Good Bye: Madden, Gionta, Clemmer, & Rupper Sign Elsewhere
    John Madden signed a 1 year deal for $2.75 million with the Chicago Blackhawks; Brian Gionta signed a 5 year $25 million deal with the Montreal Canadiens; Scott Clemmensen was signed by the Florida Panthers (3 year deal); and Mike Rupp was signed by the Pittsburgh Penguins (2 year deal) on Wednesday, July 1, 2009.
Andy Greene Re-Signs
    The New Jersey Devils announced the re-signing of defenseman Andy Greene on Wednesday, July 1, 2009.
Oduya Re-Signs - Multi-Year Deal
    Lou Lamoriello announced the re-signing of defenseman Johnny Oduya to a multi-year contract on Tuesday, June 30, 2009.   The deal is reportedly for about $3 million per season.
Draft: Devils Move Up, Pick Jacob Josefson
    The New Jersey Devils traded their first and third round picks (#23 & #84) to the Calgary Flames for first round pick #20.   With their new first round pick, the New Jersey Devils selected Swedish center, Jacob Josefson (20th overall).
Another New Coach: Sutter Officially Resigns
    Head Coach Brent Sutter officially announced that he resigned from his position with the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday, June 9, 2009.   Lou Lamoriello now has to begin the search for another replacement - which I suspect is something he's really getting tired of doing.
PL3 Re-Signs - 3 Year Deal
    Lou Lamoriello announced the re-signing of forward Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond on Monday, June 1, 2009.   The deal is reportedly for $1.575 million over 3 years.
Bobby Holik Retires
    Bobby Holik announced his retirement from the NHL on Saturday, May 23, 2009.
Round 1 Game 7: Devils Collapse, Hurricanes Advance
    The Carolina Hurricanes defeated the New Jersey Devils 4-3 at the Prudential Center on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 to advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Round 1 Game 6: Devils Make it Interesting, Shutout by Hurricanes 0-4
    The New Jersey Devils lost game 6 in Raleigh 0-4 on Sunday, April 26, 2009.   The loss sends the series to a game 7 matchup that will be played on Tuesday.
Round 1 Game 5: Devils & Brodeur Shutout Hurricanes 1-0
    The New Jersey Devils took a 3-2 series lead with a 1-0 shutout of the Carolina Hurricanes at the Prudential Center on Thursday, April 23, 2009.   The Devils need to win one of the next two games to advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
    David Clarkson scored the only goal of the game at 11:22 of the second period on a power-play.   Andy Greene and Patrik Elias assisted on Clarkson's second goal of the playoffs.
    The Hurricanes outshot the Devils 44-42 in the game.
Round 1 Game 4: Refs Give Win to Hurricanes
    After a weak start to game four of the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Carolina Hurricanes, the Devils were making a comeback on Tuesday, April 21, 2009.   That comeback in the end was thwarted by the on-ice officials.   New Jersey recovered from a 0-3 deficit before Martin Brodeur was interefered with - leading to a Carolina goal with just 0.2 seconds..
