January 12, 2003 Practice at SMA - Guolla Skates & Family Day (Pictures)
Stephen Guolla is back on skates, just six and a half weeks
after undergoing successful back surgery. The Devils center was on the
ice at South Mountain Arena on Sunday, January 12, 2003.
I told him he looked good out there, and asked how his back was.
He wouldn't tell me very much though, only saying something along the
lines of "You know.. these things take time".
Here are a few of my pictures
from the practice.
Oleg Tverdovsky, recovering from an unknown illness worked out
on the optional practice day as well. He skated hard and work on several
drills will Devils fitness consultant, Vladimir Bure.
John Madden skated in jeans with his 3 year old son, John Tyler -
who skates surprisingly well for his age. The two skated for with hockey
sticks practicing their shots and passes for quite some time.
John MacLean skated for a brief time towards the end of the
practice session with his two sons.
