February 09, 2003 Game 54: Devils Beat Wild 3-2, Brodeur Sets Record
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Minnesota Wild 3-2 at home on
Sunday, February 9, 2003. Martin Brodeur became the first goaltender in
NHL history to record 30 wins or more in 8 straight seasons.
Here are a few of my pictures
from the game.
Colin White gave the Devils a 1-0 lead with 3:02 remaining in the
first period. White's 5th goal of the season was assisted by Turner
Stevenson and John Madden.
The first period ended with the Devils leading the Wild, 1-0.
The Devils outshot Minnesota, 13-7 in the period.
Patrik Elias beat Dwayne Roloson at 3:06 of the second period to
give the Devils a 2-0 lead. Elias's 17th goal of the season was assisted
by Scott Gomez and Ken Daneyko.
Bouchard of the Wild beat Brodeur at 7:04 on the power-play to
cut the Devils lead to one goal.
The second period ended with the Devils leading Minnesota 2-1.
The shots were 9-9 in the period.
Jamie Langenbrunner gave the Devils a 2 goal lead again, at 11:21
of the third period. Brian Rafalski and Joe Nieuwendyk assisted on
Langenbrunner's 15th goal of the season.
Pascal Dupuis beat Brodeur just 2:09 after Langenbrunner's goal
to cut the Devils lead to one goal again.
The game ended with the Devils beating the Wild, 3-2. The
Devils outshot Minnesota 9-5 in the period and 31-21 in the game.
