The New Jersey Devils defeated the Boston Bruins at home on
Friday, February 21, 2003.
John Madden gave the Devils a 1-0 lead at 7:51 of the first
peiod. Jay Pandolfo who's excellent effort made the play, got the only
assist on the goal.
The first period ended with the Devils leading the Bruins, 1-0.
Boston outshot the Devils, 8-6, in the period.
Joe Thornton beat 3 Devils and Martin Brodeur at 4:34 of the
second period to tie the game, 1-1. He scored again at 9:23 to give the
Bruins a 2-1 lead.
The second period came to an end with the Bruins leading the
Devils, 2-1. The Devils outshot the Bruins 14-0 in the period.
Jiri Bicek slapped a rebound past Jeff Hackett at 9:44 of the
third period to tie the game, 2-2. Jay Pandolfo and John Madden assisted
on Bicek's 4th goal of the season.
Jeff Friesen gave the Devils a 3-2 lead with a blast at 13:33.
Friesen's 17th goal of the season was unassisted.
The game ended with the Devils defeating the Bruins, 3-2.
