Game 62: Devils & Rangers Skate to 3-3 Tie

    The New Jersey Devils skated at home against the New York Rangers to a 3-3 tie on Tuesday, February 25, 2003.

    Here are a few of my pictures from the game.

    Tom Poti gave the Rangers an early 1-0 lead by beating Martin Brodeur at 7:25 of the first period.

    The first period ended with the Rangers leading the Devils, 1-0.   The Devils outshot the Rangers 14-6 in the period.

    Brian Gionta beat Dunham at 6:54 of the second period to tie the game, 1-1.   Mike Rupp and Ken Daneyko assisted on Gionta's 8th goal of the season.

    Jamie Langenbrunner recorded his 16th goal of the season at 17:28 of the second to give the Devils a 2-1 lead.   Joe Nieuwendyk and Jeff Friesen assisted on the goal.

    The second period concluded with the Devils leading the Rangers, 2-1.   The Rangers outshot the Devils 12-10 in the period.

    Brian Leetch tied the game just 2:34 in to the third period.

    Jamie Langenbrunner re-secured the Devils lead with an unassisted goal at 6:26.   The goal was his second of the game and 17th of the season.

    With just 4:28 remaining in regulation time, Petr Nedved tied the game with a power-play goal.

    Regulation time ended with the game a 3-3 tie.   There was no scoring in the overtime period.   The Devils outshot the Rangers 36-26 in the game.

    The teams previous two meeting this season were also tie games.
