April 14, 2004 Round 1 Game 4: Flyers Beat Devs 3-0, Take Big Series Lead
The New Jersey Devils fell 3-0 to the
Philadelphia Flyers in Game 4 of the Eastern
Conference Quarter Finals on Wednesday, April 14, 2004. With the victory
the Flyers now have a commanding 3 games to 1 series lead.
Here are a few of my
pictures from the game.
Kim Johnsson got the Flyers on the board early beating Martin
Brodeur just 1:18 into the first period. Michal Handzus and Sami Kapanen
assisted on the goal.
The first period ended with the Flyers leading 1-0, even though
the Devils outshot the Flyers 13-9.
The Devils outworked the Flyers by a wide margin in the second
period, outshooting them 12-6, but neither team was able to score.
Alexei Zhamnov beat Brodeur at 4:45 of the third period to make
it a 2-0 Flyers lead. Ex-Devil Vladimir Malakhov and Jeremy Roenick
assisted on the goal.
Keith Primeau put the game out of reach, putting the puck past
Brodeur with just 3:58 remaining. Sami Kapanen and Kim Johnsson assisted
on the goal.
The shots were even 10-10 in the third period, but the Devils
outshot the Flyers 35-25 in the game.
The Devils were 0 for 4 on the power-play - the Flyers were 0 for
1 with the man advantage.
