April 21, 2004 2004 NHL Awards, Devils Nominees
The NHL announced the nominees for the 2004 NHL awards on
Wednesday, April 21, 2004. The Devils were well-represented, with three
players nominated for 4 awards.
Martin Brodeur was nominated for the Hart Memorial Trophy - which
is awarded to the NHL's most valuable player. He was also nominated for
the Vezina Trophy - for the NHL's top goaltender. Brodeur won the Vezina
last season.
Scott Niedermayer was nominated for the James Norris Memorial
Trophy - which is awarded to the league's top defenseman.
John Madden was nominated for the Frank J. Selke Trophy - for the
NHL's top defensive forward. Madden won the Selke in 2001.
Award winners will be announced in Toronto on June 10,
2004.
