March 19, 2006 Game 67: Senators Beat Devils 4-0
The New Jersey Devils were shutout, 4-0 at home by the Ottawa
Senators on Sunday, March 19, 2006.
The Senators outshot the Devils 8-3 in the first period, though
neither team was able to score a goal.
Dany Heatly beat Martin Brodeur at 4:08 of the second period on a
power-play to give Ottawa a 1-0 lead. Patrick Eaves added a second
power-play goal for Ottawa at 13:42.
A goal from Antoine Vermette with just 20 seconds remaining in
the second period gave the Senators a 3-0 lead. The Senators outshot the
Devils 13-11 in the period.
Zdeno Chara capped the scoring with a 5 on 3 power-play goal at
19:05 of the third period.
The Senators outshot the Devils 9-6 in the third period and 31-22
in the game.
