December 14, 2006Game 30: Devils Lose 3-5 In Boston
The New Jersey Devils were defeated 3-5 in Boston by the Bruins
on Thursday, December 14, 2006.
Brad Boyes beat Scott Clemmensen just 19 seconds into the first
period to give Boston an early 1-0 lead. Patrice Bergeron increased
Boston's lead with a power-play goal at 1:25.
Patrik Elias got the Devils on the board at 13:02 of the first
period, cutting the Bruins lead to one goal. Scott Gomez assisted on
Elias' 10th goal of the season.
Jamie Langenbrunner beat Tim Thomasat 19:12 on a 5 on 3
power-play to tie the game 2-2. Patrik Elias and Brian Rafalski assisted
on Langenbrunner's 12th goal of the season.
The first period ended with the score tied, 2-2. The
Bruins outshot the Devils 15-7 in the period.
Petr Tenkrat scored on a power-play at 13:02 of the second period
to regain the lead for Boston.
Mike Rupp tied the game with a goal at 14:39. Rupp's
second goal of the season was assisted by Erik Rasmussen and Jim Dowd.
The Bruins outshot the Devils 16-14 in the second period, which
ended with the score tied, 3-3.
Brad Stuart made it 4-3 Boston with a goal at 2:17 of the third
period. Patrice Bergeron added an empty net goal at 18:50 to seal the
win for Boston.
