The New Jersey Devils beat the Capitals 3-2 in Washington on
Sunday, February 25, 2007.
Brooks Laich beat Scott Clemmensen, making a rare start for the
Devils, at 16:02 to give Washington a 1-0 lead.
The first period ended with the Capitals leading the Devils, 1-0.
The Capitals outshot the Devils 10-9 in the period.
Zach Parise tied the game with a goal that beat Brent Johnson at
5:34 of the second period. Travis Zajac and Jamie Langenbrunner assisted
on Parise's 26th goal of the season.
The Devils outshot the Capitals 10-9 in the second period, which
ended with the score tied, 1-1.
Travis Zajac scored just 1:37 into the third period to give the
Devils a 2-1 lead. Zach Parise and Brian Rafalski assisted on Zajac's
12th goal of the season.
Alexander Ovechkin tied the game with a goal at 9:13.
Jamie Langenbrunner scored a power-play goal just 51 seconds
after Ovechkin's goal to regain the lead for New Jersey. Brian Rafalski
and Patrik Elias assisted on Langenbrunner's 20th goal of the season.
