March 24, 2007 Game 75: Devils Snap Streak, Beat Panthers: 4-3 (Shootout)
The New Jersey Devils beat the Panthers 4-3 in a shootout in
Florida on Saturday, March 24, 2007.
Olli Jokinen beat Martin Brodeur at 12:18 of the first period to
give Florida a 1-0 lead.
The first period ended with the Panthers leading 1-0. The
Devils outshot the Panthers 9-6 in the period.
Stephen Weiss scored at 9:25 of the second period to increase
the Panther's lead to two goals.
David Clarkson beat Eddie Belfour at 13:06 with a power-play goal
to get the Devils on the board. Brian Rafalski and Scott Gomez assisted
on Clarkson's second goal.
Jim Dowd tied the game with a goal at 16:54. Dowd's
second goal of the season was assisted by Zach Parise and Travis Zajac.
&nbwsp; The Panthers outshot the Devils 11-9 in the second period, which
ended with the score tied, 2-2.
Ville Peltonen gave the Panthers a lead again with a goal just
2:31 into the third period.
Jim Dowd scored his second goal of the game at 10:12 to tie the
game again, 3-3. Brian Rafalski and Martin Brodeur assisted on the
goal.
