March 30, 2007Game 78: Devils Beat Flyers 3-1
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 3-1 at
home on Friday, March 30, 2007.
The Flyers outshot the Devils 8-5 in the first period, which
Mike Rupp deflected the puck past Martin Biron at 18:40 of the
second period to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Rupp's sixth goal of the
season was assisted by Brad Lukowich and Andy Greene.
Travis Zajac added a power-play goal with just 10 seconds
remaining in the second period to make it a 2-0 lead. Zajac's 17th goal
of the season was assisted by Zach Parise and Brian Rafalski.
The Devils outshot the Flyers 9-5 in the second period, which
ended with the Devils leading 2-0.
Simon Gagne ruined Martin Brodeur's shutout bid with a goal at
14:03 of the third period - the Flyers first shot on goal in the period.
Jay Pandolfo scored an empty net goal with just 16 seconds
remaining to seal the Devils victory. Colin White assisted on Pandolfo's
11th goal of the season.
