The New Jersey Devils were shutdown 5-0 at home by the Pittsburgh
Penguins on Monday, November 5, 2007.
Sidney Crosby gave the Penguins a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal
that beat Martin Brodeur at 12:09 of the first period. Adam Hall scored
at 16:19 to make it 2-0 Pittsburgh.
The Penguins outshot the Devils 12-11 and led 2-0 at the end of
the first period.
Ex-Devil Petr Sykora scored at 5:48 of the second period to
increase the Penguins lead to 3 goals. Erik Christensen made it 4-0 with
a goal at 11:18.
The second period ended with the Penguins leading 4-0.
Pittsburgh outshot New Jersey 10-3 in the period.
Crosby scored his second goal of the game 3:28 into the third
period to make it a 5-0 Penguins lead.
