October 11, 2008 Game 2: Devils Beat Penguins: 2-1 Overtime
The New Jersey Devils skated to a 2-1 overtime victory over the
Penguins in Pittsburgh on Saturday, October 11, 2008.
Miroslav Satan beat Martin Brodeur at 11:52 of the first period
on a power-play to give Pittsburgh a 1-0 lead.
The Devils outshot the Penguins 10-8 in the first period, which
ended with the Pengiuns leading, 1-0.
The Devils outshot the Penguins 15-4 in the second period, though
neither team scored a goal.
Patrik Elias tied the game late in the third period - with just
2:29 remaining in regulation time. Elias' second goal of the season was
scored unassisted.
The Devils outshot the Penguins 20-2 in the third period, which
ended with the score tied, 1-1.
Zach Parise won the game with a top-shelf shot that beat
Marc-Andre Fleury at 4:22 of the overtime period. Travis Zajac and Colin
White assisted on Zajac's second goal of the season.
