November 22, 2010 Game 21: Devils Demolish Capitals: 5-0 Shutout
The New Jersey Devils will shutout the Washington Capitals at the
Prudential Center Monday, November 22, 2010.
Patrik Elias beat Braden Holtby on a power-play at 5:49 of the
first period to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Mattias Tedenby and Andy
Greene assisted on Elias' third goal of the season.
Jason Arnott scored his seventh goal of the season unassisted at
16:15.
Mattias Tedenby scored a penalty shot goal at 18:14 to give New
Jersey a commanding 3-0 lead.
The Devils outshot the Capitals 9-4 in the first period, which
ended with New Jersey leading 3-0.
Jason Arnott scored his second goal of the game at 2:43 of the
second period. Patrik Elias and Andy Greene assisted on the goal.
The Devils took a 5-0 lead when Dainius Zubrus scored at 7:48.
Alexander Vasyunov assisted on Zubrus' third goal of the season.
The Capitals outshot the Devils 16-7 in the second period and
10-7 in the third period, but the Devils were victorious, 5-0.
