December 06, 2011 Game 26: Devils BEAT Leafs 3-2 in Overtime
The New Jersey Devils beat the Maple Leafs 3-2 in Toronto on
Tuesday, December 6, 2011.
Ilya Kovalchuk scored his seventh goal of the season at 5:03 of
the 1st period to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. The power-play goal that
beat James Reimer was assisted by Petr Sykora and Adam Henrique.
A power-play goal from David Clarkson at 8:57 increased the
Devils lead to 2-0. Zach Parise and Patrik Elias assisted on Clarkson's
eighth goal of the season.
Phil Kessel got Toronto on the board with a goal that beat Martin
Brodeur at 11:29 of the second period. The Devils two goal lead
completely evaporated when Matt Frattin scored at 1:56 of the third
period.
David Clarkson won the game with a goal at 2:40 of the overtime
period. Dainius Zubrus was credited with the only assist on Clarkson's
ninth goal of the season.
