March 11, 2012 Game 69: Devils Crush Flyers 4-1
The New Jersey Devils threw the Flyers a 4-1 beating at the
Pruential Center on Sunday, March 11, 2012.
Patrik Elias beat Sergei Bobrovsky with just 25 seconds remaining
in the first period on a power-play to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. David
Clarkson and Ilya Kovalchuk assisted on Elias' 24th goal of the season.
Claude Giroux tied the game by beating Martin Brodeur just 16
seconds into the third period.
Anton Volchenkov took a great pass from Ilya Kovalchuk on a 2 on
1 breakaway and buried the puck at 2:45. Zach Parise also assisted on
Volchenkov's second goal of the season.
A goal from Ilya Kovalchuk at 8:08 gave the Devils a two goal
lead. Marek Zidlicky and Adam Henrique assisted on Kovalchuk's 30th goal
of the season.
Zach Parise added a power-play goal at 14:19 to make it a 4-1
Devils lead. Parise's 28th goal of the season was assisted by Patrik
Elias and Marek Zidlicky.
