May 01, 2012 R2 Game 2: Devils Even Series, Beat Flyers 4-1
The New Jersey Devils rallied to score four unanswered goals in
the third period to defeat the Flyers 4-1 in Philadelphia on Tuesday, May 1,
2012. The victory evened the Stanley Cup Semi-Finals matchup,
1-1.
Matt Read beat Martin Brodeur just 2:53 into the first period to
give the Flyers an early 1-0 lead.
Adam Larsson tied the game with a 4-on-4 goal at 3:08 of the
third period. The goal, assisted by Dainius Zubrus and Peter Harrold,
was the first ever post-season goal in Larsson's first playoff game.
David Clarkson's first goal of the playoffs gave the Devils their
first lead of the game. Zach Parise was credited with the only assist
on the goal.
Travis Zajac made it 3-1 with a goal that beat Ilya Bryzgalov at
14:01. Stephen Gionta was credited with the only assist on Zajac's
fifth goal of the post-season.
Bryce Salvador added an short-handed empty-net goal at 17:09 to
seal the Devils victory, 4-1. Salvador's first goal of the playoffs was
scored unassisted.
